What Is The Borderland Legion?
The Borderland Legion is an international, English-speaking guild on the European World of Warcraft Server, Runetotem.
Is The Borderland Legion The Right Guild For You?
Well, that clearly depends on you. We consider ourselves to be a mature and friendly guild, working together for a common cause, though we are primarily geared towards raiding. We are really proud of the positive and helpful atmosphere among our members and we will take great care to keep it this way. Should we learn that our ideals and ideas do not correlate with yours, we will ask you to leave and take your chances with another guild. While we acknowledge that players below the age of eighteen can be very mature and people much older can act much less mature, we ask that our applicants be at least 18 years of age, in words: EIGHTEEN.
How Does Borderland Legion's Recruitment Work?
After your application is posted at the reception desk, it is the responsibility of the officers to set up a post in an internal guild forum. There our members will discuss your application in private. If nothing negative is raised within 5 days, and if we think that you might make a good addition to our guild, we will take you along to a few of our raids. After a few raids you will be eventually granted a trialship. The usual duration of a trialship period will be a minimum of one month, so both sides have plenty of opportunity to get to know each other. Due to circumstances this may slide to a maximum of two months. After the trial period we will set up a poll about your full membership, which will run for 5 days. If we agree that you should become a full member, we will invite you as soon as possible. If we deny you a full membership or self-inflicted guild-removals, we will set up a ban of a one-month period, after which you are welcome to apply again. After two unsuccessful trialships, it should be clear to each of us that your application will not work out as intended. It is YOUR OWN responsibility to make a good impression with the guild. If you have any question, the officers are the people to contact.
What Does The Borderland Legion Look For In A Potential Recruit?
We are looking for experienced and mature players who will contribute to the guild and the community within it. This means that we expect any applicant to pull together with the rest of the guild for the common good. Social skills as well as proper knowledge of your class are a necessity. We are currently raiding four days a week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday) and expect our soon-to-be-members to attend as many raids as possible. If you feel you cannot make the majority of the raids then there is a good chance that your application will be turned down. Applicants should show a willingness to work on the items/keys/resists that they lack, and come to raids with sufficient reagents (potions, elixirs, statfood and flasks), arrows, bandages, etc. It is not the responsibility of the guild to do this for you. While your current equipment is not expected to be epic, we do expect to see evidence of some effort having been made towards equipping yourself for raids. It does not reflect well on you if, for example, you have poor standard weapons that could be upgraded easily with a few gold in the auction house, or acquired through some faction reputation.

How Does The Borderland Legion Handle Loot?
The infamous loot system, it is an integral part of any online game. You should be aware that we don't intend to get you "phat loots" or get your personal quests done for you during your trialship. Don't expect to get any loot, as we have a standing rule that full members always get priority over applicants and trialees. We do however have a lot of helpful members, who will help and support you in your endeavours if we see that you are getting your "homework" and quest preparations done. Our loot system is based upon officer decision, not DKP. Sounds easy, though it isn't, as several other contributing factors (like member status, general participation, special investments for the guild, arrangements of our members and on how badly someone wants a certain "wish item") play an important role in this task. We do not claim that our loot system is perfect and it surely has its flaws, but it works for us and we are very proud and happy of how our members act for the benefit of the guild.
