Yeah, we, too, managed to avert the cataclysm and defeated Deathwing ... before Christmas. Getting the first kill on an unofficial raid day, since we were on our holiday break already felt really nice and made for a nice Christmas present.
Bring on the hardmodes ... ... next year!
P.S.: Read More will lead to ramblings of an aging guild master over Patch 4.3 , read at your own risk.

Every so often a player is lucky enough to receive a legendary from his guild. Borderland Legion has chosen a warlock that has been with the guild since The Burning Crusade. After a display of skill on our first heroic Alysrazor kill, where he lifedrained the last 3% of Alysrazor as the only survivor. And after our first heroic Rhyolith kill, he finally reached the required number of essences. Only Ragnaros was between him and the staff. He quickly dove away from Borderland Legion, leaving the Heart of Flame behind for Dhankho to take.
Congratulations Dhankho, with Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest. |

We got a warm, very warm, welcome the first time we set foot in the oven that is Ragnaros his lair. This was roughly 4 weeks ago, after we ran rampant through The Hallowed Core Firelands and killed the last obstacle before the firelord, Majordomo Executus Staghelm. Hotheaded as Ragnaros is, he told us that we did not scare him away 6 years ago, he just suddenly remembered he left his kitchen stove on and went back home to turn it off. He also said he still thought we were insects. After some heated encounters over the last couple of weeks we came out on top and scared him away yet again. After explaining a confused Hourni what he meant with "Too soon... you have come too soon!", we could all go home to Orgrimmar and party deep into the night. |
